Useful links for a Vol Sec web site
Building a website for your Community? Well here is a couple of Great links you ought to have on your site.
As a Charity or Community Organisation part of your role is to campaign and to give local people a voice. These two links will allow charities and volutary sector organisations to do just that.
Number one is Contact your Politician.
It will allow you to embed some code on your site so people can just enter their postcode and it will give them the names and contact details of local councilers, MPs, Euro MPS and contacts for the House of Lords. I can't promise they listen though.
The next essential link is to a site called Fixmystreet.com.
You can report all those annoying things like fly tipping, abandoned cars, graffiti, overgrown hedges, etc. your report is sent to the local council and they will then, hopefully, do something about it.
Perhaps there ought to be one for reporting slow internet connectivity by postcode? Now, how do I tell my MP?
Just noticed that the sidebar now has links to car scrappage schemes and gardening services. Obviously picking up certain keywords in the text.
