The use of Social Media within the Voluntary and Community Sector is just beginning.  For many organisations and people this is a worrying time with a real concern that organisations will lose control of their identity.

There is a danger that organisations, or individuals within organisations leap in without any planning and that the entry into social media is disjointed and fails.

There is a need for some ICT systems to help capture and report on the outcomes information. A small consortium in Warwickshire asked me as the ICT Champion to look at the options available to them and then create a shortlist of suppliers.

pound coinsThere can be little doubt that over the next few years funding will be increasingly difficult for many organisations to find. It is likely to be the medium sized organisations that will struggle most and there is pressure for many organisations to collaborate or merge.

Auto Twitter feed, Google Adsense were added to the WMICT Champions website in October to see if a website could become self financing.

twitterIn November and December I regularly posted content onto the site and had a healthy number of visitors and as the Twitter feed directs people to the page they were interested in and the Google ADsense ads placed adds based on the content it also created a small click through revenue stream.
