How to use Photoshop

Photoshop is one of the elite graphics packages, it is very powerful and you can create some fantastic results.  The problem is that the power comes at a price and that price is complexity.

I should also say that there are alternative programmes for users who do not require or cannot afford that level of complexity. e.g. GIMP

However, to use photoshop effectively it is a good idea to spend some time understanding Layers.

As you would expect the web is full of turorials and demonstrations. Just type photoshop tutorials layers into Google and see the results.

I then suggest that you then follow a second tutorial on layers to confirm your knowledge  try this site

Then try out your skills.  once you have mastered Layers then move onto the next area.

Remember that learning a programme is not disimliar to learning a language, it requires practice to become fluent.  Good Luck
