Making Money through the Internet

Yes you can make money through your website and these articles show some ways. It is never going to be a major source of funding but over a year should pay for your web hosting

Google has now launched an express version of its popular Adwords Pay Per Click programme. This new service is aimed at organisations and businesses that operate at a local level and want to take advantage of on-line advertising.

Where do you look for information?

  • Local Newspapers?
  • Yellow pages?
  • Search Engines?

More and more people are using on=line tools to find information, find suppliers and to market their project.

They want to

Are we ready for an on-line charity shop?

Building a succesful on-line shop requires just few key things

This means that often the top search results are not local.

Ask what your website can do for your audience

The aim of a website is often to increase the voice of the organisation. The first question that is asked, therefore, is who you are talking too. Failing to define the audience you wish to address can result in missed opportunities, confused people and wasted resources.
So start by listing the people you would expect to visit your website.

berwynberwynIn these times of reduced budgets we are all looking for ways of increasing income. The easiest way would be for people just to give us money.  So, please feel free to send me money, I prefer money that folds although enough coins in my pockets so that I need a volunteer to hold my pants up would be acceptable.

Hmm. No immediate urge to donate?

How about a picture of a cute dog in a santa suit?  Not impressed, neither was the dog.

So can you raise money through the web?

As you know, the sector is strapped for cash.

moneymoneyOrganisations are looking at ways they can generate income to support their work and to reduce the impact of the cuts.

Does this mean that things that were considered unacceptable just a few months ago are now OK?

How far do my tweets go... about Twenty Feet

If you are planning to use Twitter or Facebook as an effective, organisational tool within the sector, then you need to be able to get some metrics of how it and you are performing.

It is not enough to quote the numbers of followers you have on twitter or friends on Facebook (excluding all those farmers). It is about the number of people who take some action as a result of your comments.
