The use of Social Media within the Voluntary and Community Sector is just beginning.  For many organisations and people this is a worrying time with a real concern that organisations will lose control of their identity.

There is a danger that organisations, or individuals within organisations leap in without any planning and that the entry into social media is disjointed and fails.

OK, So You've got a website!

That is not enough, you need to get people to find your website and you should make it easy for them to engage with your organisation/social enterprise on-line.

Get your site listed in the search engines.  There is apparently a black art in getting your site noticed by Google et al, but, much of it is common sense.

So you want to be top of the google rankings when people search for an organisation. But in order to be there you need know what they are searching for?

searchsearchOf course, you know your own organisation and the area you work in. This means that your idea of search terms may not meet the expectations of your clients, colleagues or other organisations.
