ICT Induction - essential requirements

crossroads with signpostIt is essential that when someone joins your organisation that you provide them with an effective introduction to the ICT equipment and environment they will be working with.

The 5 key elements of any induction programme are

• Location: Where they will be working
• Equipment: What equipment they will be operating
• People: Who they will be working with
• Mentor: Who will be responsible for them and support them
• Rules: The terms of employment

The same areas should be used for their ICT induction.

Location

They should conduct a health and safety assessment of their workstation, this requirement should also address the issue of home working and laptop use.
